Bowlerama
This year the contenders in the Barrachos Cup decided to head back to da’hood and once again invaded the lanes @ the Manhattan Superbowl, Mascot. And what a roller coaster of excitement it has been! The bowling atmosphere is a lot cooler with the whole 50’s memorabilia thing happening and lashings of hometown hospitality from the staff. Kudos again to Beccy for her enthusiasm & general organising. Thanks also to those who assisted in taming one particular over-enthusiastic staffer.  Now all we seem to have to contend with is the no smoking policy that most places have these days – means that this, along with the ‘just gone to the kiosk for a coke and some jelly snakes’ and (more likely) ‘just gone down the bottle-oh/pub/bar for more supplies’, team members are forever trying to be located for ‘their turn’. Funnily enough my particular turn doesn’t generally make much of a difference to the overall score anyway. Time to check out the scores …

Classic & Enthusiasts Motor Cycle Club Annual Show Day

April Fools Day opened the Seasons Run Calendar with a small group meeting at the caff, including a visit from long lost Ton-Up Edd. After catching up, we headed south to the Classic & Enthusiasts MC Show Day. We picked up Hooky on his TSS Triumph Aussie Framed Special and a couple more riders along the way at Loftus Oval. The glorious day brought beautiful machinery out of the woodwork. Including Gold Stars, Rocket Gold Stars, Matchy singles and twins, Bonnies both unit and pre unit, Atlas’ & Commandos as well as a couple of Featherbed Specials powered by a Triumph and a Sunbeam!

The most interesting for mine was an AJW that was an AJS single 500 converted to overhead cam. This bike had some racing success in the 50’s and the motor was truly a work of art.
