Run Details 2001/2002

The upcoming Autumn / Winter Season starts as usual with our Barrachos Cup Bowling Tournament 2001 (Round 2) in March and is followed up with another regular visit from Tassie Tony where a night is being arranged for Wednesday the 14th and everyone is welcome.  Venue to be announced.

April has the annual CEMCC Show Day on the 1st at the Cooper Street Reserve, Engadine.  Entrance to the park is on Cooper Street and all judging is by entrants’ choice.  All bikes welcome with 10 awards to classics (pre 76), 5 awards to modern and 10 other various awards will be issued.  Entry fee is $2, which includes a lunchtime Sausage sizzle and morning tea/coffee.  Registration is between 10:30 & 11:30 with judging between 12 & 1pm.  Usually a great day out with lots of nice bikes to check out.

There's been a lot of talk lately about organising a club ride day for all you boy & girl racers – here's your chance.  The Norton Owners Club has invited us to join theirs on April 8th at Eastern Creek.  All bikes welcome especially British & Classics.  All bikes will be scrutineered for safety & need to be prepared for the track (i.e. taped up head lights), and of course the appropriate ride gear / full face helmets etc are necessary.  This is basically a ‘Motorcycle Concepts’ day where the N.O.C. have made a group booking, the price is $135 for the day (or discounted if a member of N.O.C.) – this can be lowered depending on the amount of people who show.  The NOC is also supplying the afternoon lunch at a little extra cost if your interested and its for these reasons that an RSVP is essential to book your spot by FRI 23rd March (+ $50 Dep).  So the ride day that everyone wanted is here!  Meet Eastern Creek by 8:00am, but first book.  Ladies & Gentlemen … start your engines.

May has another regular and now very popular Made In England breakfast run that's organised by a few Brit bike fanatics.  This time the ride sees the group heading north for Wollombi (not sure which route?) but the meet is at the Bull&Bush Hotel, Baulkham Hills at 8:30am so probably any City or Southern TUB can meet at Café Martini at 7:30 (which will be closed).  Usually a guaranteed great day out.

June has the excellent annual 50s Wintersun Festival at Coolangatta which is highly recommended, especially if you’re into the 50s/Rocker scene.  Always a great time to catch up with our Northern Ton-Up friends and guaranteed a good time. Read on for details …

June long weekend sees us heading on our Annual Rockers Pilgrimage to Coolangatta.  This year the plan is to ride up possibly leaving on the Thursday 8th with an overnight stay around the 1/2way mark (Coffs Harbour?)  For those who haven’t previously been, I can really recommend the weekend away even if you aren’t into the Rocker culture – there really is something for everyone!  The whole town has a genuine festival feel with everything from hot cars to street stalls.  Friday nites “Street Cruise” alone is worth making the journey for.
If anyone is interested in joining the converted, please contact Arby on 0401 635 639 or email address tonupboys@hotmail.com. As this is such a popular event we’ll need to get in as soon as we can as far as bookings are concerned.  So we’ll need to confirm bookings with you no later than the 1st week in May.
See you there!  Arby.

Sunday 15th July has Robbie’s annual winter ‘Ride the Bells’ run Part IV that departs from the ECA Bar at 8:30.  So far we’ve been really lucky on this run, each year just missing the snow, storms, cold wind & rain by only days.  So make sure you come well prepared for this one.  An optional ride to Lithgow is there if you want it, or just go straight to Mt.Victoria at the turn off.  The return trip is casual, either back down the Bells or the Great Western Hwy, depending on the mood.  Maps also issued on the day.

A short morning run is organised for August 19th, just a quick hoon down the coast to the Headlands Pub at Austinmer.  The natio route is optional and you can help yourself to late breakfast or early lunch – whatever you like!  Just a simple short half-day ride to keep the batteries charged.  August 26th has the annual Rose Seidler House 50s fair at 71 Clissold Road Wahroonga, another easy half day out for a short cruise and to sit back, relax & soak up the atmosphere.  Usually about $7 entry and a great way to end the Winter Season.
